Get rid of clothes that are too small
Updated: Sep 27, 2021
You've heard it before and now you're going to hear it again. I don't care how expensive or what memories were made with those old jeans. If you've been hanging onto them for years because "one day you'll be able to fit back into them" I have some tough love for you; they may never fit again. Stop feeling sad and sorry for yourself and go out and buy a new pair of jeans that fit great, and that make you look and feel like the absolute badass you are!
The more we hang on to old clothes the more we continue to try to make ourselves fit into (no pun intended) this mold of what we think is the "right" size. There is no right size. I sometimes hear people say that they wished they looked like a certain celebrity, or they idolize a friend or someone the follow on social media. If you looked like that person, what would make you, you? What would make you unique and authentically yourself? We need to have sound, solid relationships with ourselves. We need to love ourselves regardless of what our weight is. Believe me, I know it's hard. But as soon as you stop looking at your physical body as a factor of your worth, you may just start homing in on all the other amazing qualities that you have! Start owning the person you are. You'll be happier for it.
Here's an exercise for you: I want you to pretend you weighed 5 or 10 pounds less than you weigh right now. Write down all the reasons why you would be a happier person. However, one of the reasons cannot be "because I would be closer to my goal weight." What would actually bring you happiness about weighing less? Diving into that list is really important to figuring out what happy truly means to you.
We are constantly changing. We may get bigger, we may get smaller, but the only thing that matters is how we talk to ourselves and how kind we are to others. Size doesn't determine kindness.

Always remember to celebrate progress, not perfection.
